“Usually the amateur is defined as an immature state of the artist: someone who cannot — or will not — achieve the mastery of a profession. But in the field of photographic practice, it is the amateur, on the contrary, who is the assumption of the professional: for it is he who stands closer to the (i)noeme(i) of Photography.”
Roland Barthes, Camera Lucida

Found photographs, which have been re-worked/ restored .These images were taken by anonymous strangers, whereby the link between memory and the creator of these photographs is severed and beyond recovery. Anonymous images reflect upon casual postures, thoughtful poses, daydreams, bursts of energy and moments of indecision. They are at times strange, ambiguous and hauntingly beautiful.
